GMH Partner Elizabeth (“Liza”) Favaro obtains defense verdict in South Florida product liability case.
A six-person jury in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, recently decided that a glass shower door was not defective and did not cause a Home Depot customer’s injury. Elizabeth (“Liza”) Favaro led the defense of the company responsible for the door’s production in the case, which was filed in Broward County, Florida, and alleged strict product liability and negligence. It took the jury less than an hour to make its decision. The plaintiff’s claimed injuries included a hand laceration and permanent nerve damage due to the presence of an alleged sharp condition on the door, but the jury’s decision means that the plaintiff recovered no damages. A copy of the judgment is available here.
Liza Favaro is a shareholder, a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, and co-leader of the Business Litigation Practice Group.
