Karie Miller has joined Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton in the Municipal Section.
Karie worked as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. She has litigated numerous criminal and civil cases on behalf of the People of the State of Michigan with extensive trial, motion, preliminary examination and research. Karie serves as an Instructor Oakland Police Academy, teaching basic and advanced training of law enforcement officers in the areas of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Contraband, Civil Procedure, Juvenile Law, Testimony and Court Structure. Karie also worked as a Clerk to the Honorable Edward Sosnick in the 6th Circuit Court, Pontiac, MI. She performed a wide range of tasks, including legal research, drafting of memoranda and court opinions, proof reading and cite checking. Karie began her career as a Social Worker for Oakland Family Services, regarding adoption, termination and family progress. She testified in court regularly as well as Developed plans for family reunification or found suitable adoptive homes. Supervised children in foster care setting.
