Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C. is pleased to announce that JOHN R. FLEMING is now an Associate with the firm.

John joins the firm as an Associate in our Business Litigation Group. His primary area of practice is in defending physicians of all specialties and hospitals in complex medical malpractice lawsuits.

He is a graduate of the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he received awards for outstanding academic performance in Contracts and Torts. During law school, John worked as a legislative aide in the Michigan House of Representatives and completed an externship at the Michigan Supreme Court with the Hon. David F. Viviano. Following graduation, John joined Bufalino and Palazzolo, P.C., where he focused his practice on commercial litigation, family law, probate and estate planning, and criminal defense.

John was the lead trial attorney on a complex contractual business dispute leading to a favorable result for his clients in Macomb County Circuit Court. He has successfully negotiated settlements on business disputes and has represented leading safety technology companies in multi-million dollar lawsuits. John was instrumental in every facet of the litigation and settlement of complex medical malpractice claims. He has given presentations to hospital and insurance company representatives on pertinent legal issues in the health care industry.

John currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, the Macomb Foundation, and Macomb Advocacy for Business. He has formerly served on the City of Fraser’s Zoning Board of Appeals and was an acting board member for the Macomb Children’s Hands on Museum. He has a long history of community and charitable involvement, including service with numerous Optimist, Rotary, and Kiwanis clubs in his community.

John is admitted to practice in all Michigan courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
