This year’s celebration of the Chinese Year of the Snake, sponsored by the Wayne County Medical Society Foundation, drew more than 200 enthusiastic supporters of the Foundation to the Roostertail for Chinese food and fellowship.  This year’s event was chaired by Joseph F. (Jeff) Page, President of the law firm Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C. in Troy, Michigan.  He has been a long-time supporter and member of the Board of the Wayne County Medical Society Foundation.   Dr. Joe Beals, the President of the Foundation, moderated the event which provides funds to increase awareness of and help prevent elder abuse.  This year’s event honored Rev. Dr. Jimmy Womack, a retired physician and politician, Dr. Lourdes V. Andaya, a leading neurologist on staff at the DMC and ardent advocate for the elderly, and Rosemary Bannon, for her many years of work for and participation on the Board of the Foundation.  Each of the honorees was recognized for their long-standing commitment to service to the residents of metropolitan Detroit.
