Michael J. Mason

Mr. Michael Mason is affiliated with the firm as Of Counsel to Albert Taylor Nelson PLC.  He concentrates his activities in the area of Workers’ Disability Compensation, in which he has practiced for over thirty-five years.  Over that time, he has primarily represented employers and insurance carriers as trial counsel. He has served as staff counsel, private practice defense counsel and as an administrative adjudicator at both the appeal and trial level, most recently as a Workers’ Compensation Magistrate for the State of Michigan. He has recognized expertise in statutory construction, depositions, trials, and appeals.

Mr. Mason has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since 1978, and belongs to the Workers’ Compensation and Master Lawyers Sections.

Mr. Mason is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He has appeared and argued in numerous trial courts and tribunals, as well as the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.

He is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Law and Benedictine University.
