Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C. is pleased to announce that Gov. Rick Snyder recently reappointed Albert Taylor Nelson, Jr., to the State Board of Ethics. The seven-member board serves as an advisory and investigatory committee which determines the ethical conduct of classified state employees and public officers in the executive branch of the Michigan state government. “These individuals are exceptional choices for this board,” Snyder said. “I am confident their backgrounds, skills and experiences will assist the board in maintaining the highest ethical standing across state government.” This is Mr. Nelson’s second, four-year term on the State Board of Ethics, he was first appointed to the board in 2012.

Mr. Nelson is president of the defense practice firm Albert Taylor Nelson, Jr., PLC and has served of counsel to Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C. since 2008. He specializes in litigation and workers’ compensation. Prior to practicing law, he taught Social Studies at the nationally renowned Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Nelson has been active in the community, involving himself with numerous civic and professional organizations. Further, he has been nominated as a dbusiness Magazine Top Lawyer, a Super Lawyer and a Leading Lawyer.
